Correct. Unless the contract includes a maintenance SLA there's no reason for the original creators to "fix" anything unless a new contract is made up for that, including payment for the effort.
If the software was signed off on by the customer, he agreed that it works according to the specs agreed upon in the original contract.
If it doesn't that's the customer's responsibility for not performing his acceptance tests properly.

Look at the post count for the kid. He posted his one message and never has been back.
That tells us several things:
He doesn't monitor these forums at all.
He's not serious about his effort.
He's just a kid with fluffy ideas and no sense of reality.

The MiG I showed is in fact a MiG-29, vegaseat. It's listed as such in the airshow program by the design bureau and was announced as such as well :)

The current image shows the Berkut, an experimental FSW fighter based loosely on the Flanker. Never entered series production.

jbennet is showing a Vulcan.

MiG-29. I'd have to look up some data to find out the exact submodel used by the Luftwaffe, but I believe it's the A.

And no, that's not a difficult one at all.

No, he needs to install a JRE on the target systems (or state in his system requirements that one be installed, far easier).

Sure, just install a JRE instead.
If you don't want to do that either, consider this:

self censorship is fine, it's when governments start preventing people from saying things because the government doesn't like what's being said (which is what true censorship is) that things get hairy.

prisons have always been for punishment. The fundamentally flawed idea that they're for "rehabillitation" was a direct spinoff of the flowerpower movement of the 1960s and early 1970s when it was thought everyone was basically nice and if only shown a lot of love and understanding would steer clear of crime.

As a result prisons were ever more changed from institutions where people are locked up to protect society into 5 star hotels where they're supposed to be "reeducated" and shown that they are really nice people at heart who made a bad mistake that really was not their fault at all.

This has of course failed utterly, as people are generally NOT nice, and the percentage of criminals who pick up their criminal enterprises after being released has gone up instead of down as the deterrence value of prison sentences has been reduced to almost nothing.

jwenting 1,905 duckman Team Colleague

never bet, it doesn't pay in the long run.

never do database access from jsp, it's not what they're meant for (yes, I know it's possible but it's also possible to jump off a 50 story building).

and always use code tags.

jwenting 1,905 duckman Team Colleague

well, it IS possible.
The conspiracy theorists think "Bush" lied about Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. etc..
So what's to stop them from dropping a few nukes and claiming it was normal bombs dropped on workshops where terrorists were making nukes?
It'd be so out of character that the conspiracy theorists wouldn't believe it to be a lie, they don't think the president is capable of such creative thinking :)

Bigger problem would be to convince the Russians, but they're I think aching to try out their own nukes so it should be possible to make it a joint operation with them with both sides getting to nuke someone, their choice from a mutual list of targets.

Dima, most people don't bother to do their own research into the history and current status of the Middle East. They'll lap up whatever the press tells them, and the press has been firmly in the terrorist camp for the last 30 years or so.
Remember that anti-semitism is still rife throughout the world, and most people don't shed any tears over dead Jews while being outraged at any Arab who so much as is inconvenienced when his television doesn't work because of a brownout.

yup, though not by a youngster. The owner of a company I used to work for ran off with all the company funds, leaving us bankrupt and costing me a lot of money (5 years later and my salary is finally back where it was before the bankruptcy, not counting for inflation, and that's just missed income, I also lost most of my savings).

jwenting 1,905 duckman Team Colleague

Dragon is right. That is exactly why Israel is still fighting the Palestinians, tolerating terror in the streets and everyday bombings of the cities - they are reluctant to use enough force to bomb the terrorists into the stone age. Because the first world countries are being led by scared politicians who are afraid to give orders to the army. They all think about their own career, instead of the damage the country is sustaining.

Well said.
Both Syria and Jordan had the exact same trouble with the so-called "Palestinians" (a name invented by the guys who invented the PLO to deliberately drive a wedge between Arabs and Jews in the area) in the 1950s and '60s.
Both countries resorted to the same tactic. Drive a few tens of thousands of them together in a city somewhere you don't mind destroying, surround the place with several army divisions, and use the entire area for target practice for artillery, tanks, and aircraft until there's nothing left standing.
Then send in the infantry and shoot everything that moves, men women and children alike.

The PLO never bothered either country again.

Israel however has gone down the path of self destruction, is committing national suicide. Their political leadership (like that of the US during the Vietnam war as well as today) is too weak and afraid of "international opinion" to do what is needed to succeed.

the best army is one that's so good noone dares oppose it on the field of battle, one that by its very existence makes war unnecessary.
So having weapons that don't have the name of an enemy written on them is a good thing, it makes people take pause and notice that there's room enough for their name...

and don't forget that Java doesn't need a lot of the design patterns in the C++ and Smalltalk catalogues because it isn't plagued with things like multiple inheritance and operator overloading.

So Java makes use of some patterns that C++ doesn't while at the same time not needing a lot of patterns C++ makes use of.
According to sarehu's reasoning that makes Java the better language as it requires less patterns, not I think what he had in mind with his attempt to turn this into a language war by flaming Java :)

read up on what makes an applet and applet and you'll know soon enough what you need to do.

Draft is NOT conscription, though the two are related.
Draft is for the duration of a conflict, conscription is for a fixed duration irrespective of whether there's a conflict.

The draft in the US ended with the Vietnam war, and has never been renewed (despite calls by the Dems to do so, veiled as "rumours" that "Bush wants to start a draft for Iraq").

conscription teaches kids discipline and respect, as well as skills that could come in handy when they go hunting for jobs (many get training as vehicle mechanics, cooks, nurses, etc. etc. as well as obedience to their superiors and not questioning everything your boss tells you to do).
