First of all, you can try to find some updated drivers for your existing video card and then install dx9. If you have onboard, see if you can get the latest drivers from HP. You could go out and buy the best 2x compatible card that you can find, and …

I've updated all the drivers as well as the bios but I still can't get it. I know …

I had a similar problem come up when I installed WinXP on my computer. I ended up turning off a function on the bios called "power up on pci" or something like that.

Does this happen with any other games? If so, see if there are updated drivers for your sound and video cards. If not, see if you can find a patch or fix for your game from it's website.

You can search for viruses or that crap for free online at housecall.trendmicro.com and delete them. After that, go to c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc and open up 'hosts'. In there you should delete any lines that contain amazon in it. It wouldn't hurt to delete lines with that spyware site in it as …

Yes, it is possible to do this. You can get a program ( http://www.buy-software-online.net/utilities/system_utilities/acronis_os_selector.asp ) that will help you manage the installation, without uninstalling ME AND allows you to do it on the same partition. The only hit on your system that should occur is hard drive space. Since your …

More information would be useful. Did you just install the newest version of IE? Was it doing this before? Do you just have a slow connection, or running through a network? I would check for viruses, or see if windows is running updates in the background.
