IE is messed up...

When I start IE it doesn't bring up my homepage for like 1-2 mins and when I click on a link or try to bring up a new window it takes the same amount of time. I ran an adware scanner and deleted all of it and downloads go at the same speed. I have no idea what the problem is. Any suggestions? (I have the newest version of IE)

More information would be useful. Did you just install the newest version of IE? Was it doing this before? Do you just have a slow connection, or running through a network?

I would check for viruses, or see if windows is running updates in the background.

1) I've had the newest version for awhile.
2) No it just started last night when I was looking for a strategy guide.
3) I have cable and I'm not running through a network.

I've already scanned for viruses and Windows isn't running any updates.

Under tools>internet options>general>accessibilty and see if "format documents using my style sheet" has somehow been checked, and if it has, uncheck it. If that doesn't help (it most likely won't), take a look at this thread: http://www.daniweb.com/techtalkforums/showthread.php?t=989

Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

After the scan has finished the "scan" button will turn into a "save log" button

save the log file and paste it here

Do not delete anything yet, as most things hijackthis finds are harmless and needed.

Either I or someone else will tell you what to fix

You have too many programs running at startup and using valuable resources - a lot of them you could run manually when you want them, instead of having them running all the time.

Glad to hear it's working...........however you should still do the following....Close all browser windows - run hijackthis and tick to fix :-
