I've got the same laptop and have never had any real issues with it. What is the computer doing when the screen goes black? And how do you recover from it? Do you have to reboot the machine to get it running again?

I know that you can treat such as file as a compressed archive file in windows and attempt to unzip or unrar it. However, once the files are "unzipped" I don't think that there's anything that you can do with them.

Hmmm, I've never experienced this one, but I know that upgrading to Notes 8 solved many of our issues email and otherwise.

Yeah, rotation isn't built into windows. It's part of the graphics card. If your graphics card doesn't support it, then you might want to look for the lastest drivers and/or firmware. Most laptop graphics cards have this function but don't advertise it.
