Hey
See if your cpu fan is continuesly running and that it is fasten to the heatsink
This is most likely the cause

hey there
So four years ago I personally had somewhat the same problem. In my case the fan on the cpu was spinning but without me noticing It wasnt fasten to the heat sink and resulted in the processor bailing out(freeze)
-boot from the disk and see if it runs thru so you can do a repair(if not-than its most likely cpu cooling)
-also check if its really providing enough cooling (monitor it)-sometimes the fan bails after a while.

Hey there buddy
I feel your frustration, but believe me when ever I get frustrated, I just don't get my way with whatever it is what I'm trying to do

Into business, try one of the following:
do you get normal beep at startup?
--jump the BIOS and restart
-if you have and are not using your on board display controller do so.
-minimize the prob by temporary removing all unneeded parts i.e pci cards etc
-get a graphics card that

-make sure you have enough cooler (fans) in box(especially the new cpu)

-make sure your new power supply is providing fair power to all motherboard/components (incl monitor if its plugged in straight in the power supply)

Hey guys
I have a machine thats on a network and whenever I try to log in it does the logon process but comes right back to the welcome screen.the read it gives is:
"starting windows..."
"logging of"
I strongly believe that the problem lies within the registry since I've changed the drive letter inside my registry without backing my registry(I know its crazy:@)

So without being able to get inside windows(Ive tried safe mode as well),is there a way to fix the error without having to reinstall windows.

Thanx for the help

Consider the fact that maby the migration wasnt done properly. But first run a disk check if you can.If it doesn't work run do the migration from scratch(I know it sucks).but format the hard drive first, and make sure you get no errors during migration

Is it a original XP disk, have you used it b4.if not try another XP disk.It might just happen that the disk do not contain all the files (???????????)

Hey danelb, now thats a mouth full.lol.however it can and will be solved(or at least I'l do my best)

Lets try to isolate the prob by minimizing all your probs to one @ a time.well first off you cant clone rite.I personally prefer using nortons ghost.I also got recent errors but with some great added commands it does the trick.
If you can find a norton ghost and follow these steps(since I'll be able to help you better that way)
->Isolate all the disks except for the source(the one you want to clone from) and the destination disk
->when starting up your machine make sure you detect both disks in BIOS(format and partition the destination disk if it is new)
->Run the Norton Ghost in DOS(I suppose you know if not feel free to ask)
->set the ghost program up (Its very straight forward once the screen comes up)-If you struggle feel free to ask
----If it run succesfull than you have a WINNER,if not-----
use the 'fro' command with the 'ghost'
like:ghost -fro
Use this syntax if your drive screams for bad sectors

if you find the info usefull(or not) do reply-Im working on it

differentiate between the power supplies that you use.it can be lack of power that is if you didn't try a usb keyboard already.while trying to rule out some possibilities, have you tried flashing your bios.Try an older graphics card.let me know how it went.

I just purchased a new 750watt power supply to put in my machine. Take my computer apart put in the new power supply hook it up and thats when this problem occurs. After checking cords etc; I figure it's just the new power supply. So take my computer apart put in the old power supply which was working before, same problem happens with the new power supply.

About the only thing I have figured out is that when I do not plug in the 12v power connector in the motherboard the computer seems to keep power. The computer will not boot up without the 12v power connector, but the fans and led lights stay on. I have a spare motherboard that I am going to try. Any ideas would be appreciated. The store I purchased the motherboard from is about an hour away so if I can avoid the drive to replace the board would be nice.

Thanks for reading and any ideas.

was the motherboard in functioning good before the power supply upgrade. is there a reason for you replacing the power supply
