Yes they do...

So here is another 1 to ponder...

Since bread is square, why is sandwich meat round?

Because intestines are tubular and set the precedent.

There are still a few countries that conduct biological weapons research. There is always the chance of an accidental release. Good material for another bad Hollywood movie.

We don't need foreign countries conducting bio-warfare research - we have a food supply system that injects multiple forms of antibiotics into livestock: Tara Smith, an assistant professor at the University of Iowa Department of Epidemiology, and her graduate researchers found MRSA in more than 70 percent of the pigs they tested on farms in Iowa and Illinois. [...]tested 20 workers at the Iowa swine farms and found that 45 percent carried the same MRSA bacteria as the pigs. The New York Times recently reported a highly probable direct link between our unsustainable system of modern industrial agriculture and two recently emerging phenomena that threaten us all. The author makes the very logical connection between the recent epidemic of MRSA (an antibiotic-resistant strain of Staphylococcus bacteria) which is now killing more Americans each year than AIDS (100,000 infections leading to 19,000 deaths in 2005 alone, according to estimates in The Journal of the American Medical Association) and the deplorable conditions that exist in the CAFOs (concentrated animal feeding operations) in the US and other countries.
The Food and Drug Administration is clearly caught between a salmonella tainted tomato and a hard place - they said, "was that even though we are several weeks out from when the food was first consumed, new cases are still showing up." They have no idea where the …

telekinesis has been demostrated many times througout time go and see for your self there are many famous psychic out there.view all the articles in mytelekinesis.com
many of them have other powers other than telekinesis such as pyrokinesis(ability to control fire)cryokinesis(ablity to manipulate ice)and much more!i myself is a psionist and is able to do aerokinesis(ability to control wind)like storm in x-men.if in appears in tv it does not mean it is not true.i am not asking you to believe me.decide for yourself

The Great Randi has a standing offer of $1,000,000 for anyone who can demonstrate telekinesis, dowsing, teleportation, telepathy, any of that 'psychic phenomenon' pucky. No one has managed to claim the prize and very few even have the cajones to apply. Until any of these 'powers' are demonstrated in front of experts that include professional magicians, it is just pucky.

Salem commented: Yeah, it's all just extreme vapor-ware. Not a shred of credible proof +17

some say that in 2012 december 21 we are going to enter a new era call the golden age and other says that a new sun cycle has already started and the sun storm will be too big and somehow kill us.thats by the NASA i think but yet another says that the world will not end as we know it but will collapse politically like the government we know will fall and soon the whole world will collapsedstarting with the superpower america first....check out this site mytelekinesis.com it has many article and a few on this...many powerful psychic are there with many powers...they are now organising a society call the dark moon society and is trying to save the world by helping the mortal son of the god back to power.

Jasimp - love the simile!
scholars disagree:Biologists debate whether or not viruses are living organisms. Some consider them non-living as they do not meet the criteria of the definition of life. For example, unlike most organisms, viruses do not have cells. However, viruses have genes and evolve by natural selection. Others have described them as organisms at the edge of life.
I have been interested in phages (anti-bacterial virii) for quite a while - I think with the current spate of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, the study of bacteriophages will come to the fore again (interest in phages stopped in the US with the discovery of Penicillin).

Look here for more info.

Also another real good one I like is Ninja scrolls (the movie) and then the series which takes place after the movie.

Dang - I was just going to add Ninja Scrolls -- I loved it; along with ghost in the machine and Spirited Away. I don't get to see a lot of them cuz DH does not really like anime yet she loves samurai film like Zatoichi (go figure). We have almost the complete set of the old style and also the new one.

I already told you that I have no intention of turning this thread into any type of religious war. I'll say it again -- You want a quote: just ONE is John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

There are similar claims all over the New Testiment

<<Heh, heh - we won't discuss the edit>> thanks, that's all I wanted (though in truth your quote only states that believers will not perish - it does not say non-believers will perish; am I being difficult?). I don't want this to be a religious war either.

GrimJack 1,414 Posting Maven Featured Poster

Sneek, you missed the point (and so did AD), he made a claim - I just wanted him to back up the claim. Your quote does not back up his statement. The claim was roughly 'non-xtians are doomed - it all over the bible'. I just wanted him to support his argument; I am certainly not interested in doing his research for him (or for you for that matter).

[edit]OMG I just noticed that I edited your post instead of quoting it. My deapest apologies for my error -- AD [/edit]

.

GrimJack 1,414 Posting Maven Featured Poster

All over the new testiment.

Come on, AD - give it up! We want a hint - I think the standard is book - chapter - line(s) (zeke 12: 13-69).

There might be some help here:registry fixes; I think the 5th one down might be of some help but, er, it is the registry file so back it up first.

Oh, and free advice is worth what you pay for it.

Have you tried going into the wastebasket and hand deleting files? You might be able to find what the trouble is this way.

the colt .45 and the M14 are still in use, as is the m16, these are all from the same era or before

Oooh! The M14, I could place 5 of 8 in the inner ring at 1000 meters - I did not know they were still in use. I loved that weapon! but humping the ammo was always my complaint. Just as I was getting out they were introducing the M16, which I only got to live fire a couple times and never learned to field-strip. Thanks, I did not realize they kept the M14, I just assumed they discarded the M14 for the M16 and the 1911-1a for the 9mil. Obviously, keeping up with the military is not one of my hobbies.

Also, I like to shoot handguns, especially large caliber ones.

I remember the good old days when I could just step out back and shoot! I have a .22 semi-auto rifle w/scope, a Winchester lever-action .3030 that I bought on lay-a-way the summer I turned 15, and a .357 magnum single-action revolver that my b.-in-l. gave me for Xmas years ago.

Er, I grew up in Montana - if that was not immediately obvious. I now live the big city of Seattle so I don't get to be quite so casual.

I have been kinda hoping to try one of those .50 cal handguns (the largest caliber hand-held I ever fired was an M-79 40mm grenade launcher - I count it cuz it is rifled and a real hoot to fire). But I think the M60 loaded with tracers every 10th was the most fun I ever had - and it is probably the only weapon still in use that I trained on

With a laptop, I think that the only things you can do to improve performance is add that extra gig of memory and get a faster hd. The only games I play on my laptop are turn-based squad games like the UFO series. I play shooters on my desktop.

Maximize your system to do what? gaming? audio? graphics? video? W/o that info, I suggest that you buy as much memory as you can afford - 1 gig of memory is only good enough for bare bones editing.

GrimJack 1,414 Posting Maven Featured Poster

My only advice to add for point and click is make sure you get auto-stabilize.
On digital photography in general, get a really big card and shoot and shoot - don't delete anything until you get it home and loaded onto your pc and then only delete obviously bad shots like fingers, blurred etc. Some pictures will grow on you or have some effect that you want to reproduce and, unlike film, all the info about the settings is built into the picture.

And don't see the world through a lens

(I guess I should look at the date stamp - you probably already bought it)

I'm probably wrong but it looks like the pattern a .410 shotgun would make choked down. If I am right, I would like to know the distance for that spread (er, if I am wrong, nevermind).

The moment I post in some web master forum about renting signature link, I get many responses, but in geek forums like this , I do not get any response.
What are the reasons that geeks do not feel like renting signature links ?
Your thoughts please.

Wow! I sneak in for a quick peek between 12 hour work-days and I find a twit posting who does not understand what makes a geek a geek. We are here for community and our .sigs are to tell others something about how we view the world. My original .sig stated "Sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice." This appears to be the case here. You seem to have no clue to what community is. You try to insult people with inane comments but get the wrong war and leave out the name of the country, then you try to insult them by explaining the insult implying they are too dumb to understand your superior wit but your world view is so far skewed from any of the members of this community that no one, in the end, really cares who you are. Your only reason for posting on this forum is to get your greed on. By bringing up Germany (eventually), you are trying to somehow - well, actually, I can't figure out where you were trying to go with that line.

Why don't you go back to your post where you are trying to insult jwenting with the …

How do I choose? I am lucky enough to live is Seattle and I eat Thai, Vietnamese, Chineese, Korean, Italian, Indian, Ethiopian, Montanan, American, I love it all. I only eat French food in France though -- there is nothing like sitting down to a meal with friends and family and eating and talking and drinking wine for 3 or more hours. The emply plates are removed and new courses are served with no interuption in conversation and no one is waiting impatiently for you to leave -- when you make a reservation, the table is yours. They invented restaurants in France - back when the all the royalty was executed, 1000s of chefs were thrown out of work and they had to invent a new concept, the restaurant. Before, food was always an afterthought - ie the place where you slept also served food or the bar where you drank also served food.

Ethiopian and Morrocan food is served on one large platter and everyone eats using bread and fingers.

When we lived in Tucson AZ, my wife and I would drive across the border into Mexico to buy cheap tequilla and eat tacos fried on street corner grills - later we drove deep into mexico (ciudad Chihuahua) to visit Poncho Villa's Villa (heh, heh) and see La Cucaracha (full of bullet holes from his assassination) and eat Mexican that was more like French because of Emporer Maximillion's influence.

We would go up into Canada and eat …

It has long been known that the Earth's magnetic poles shift and sometimes reverse (as metal bearing magma exudes from plate fractures and cools, the iron is magnetized by the magnetic forces; when the poles shift or reverse, it can be detected.) Prior to a pole shift the strength of the magnetic field that surrounds the earth lessens, goes to zero then strengthens. In geologic time, the change is a blink of the eye but in human terms, it is actually hundreds of years. Right now the magnetic field acts as a protective field that keeps much of the solar ratiation away from us (ie the Van Allen Radiation Belt - also often visible as the Aurora Boriales). Studies indicate that we appear to be entering an era of lessening The years without any magnetic protection may not sterilize the earth but we would all have the same tan

Here is a pointer to the NOVA show on the subject:

Dan, I can't believe that it was that simple!!!
I have been unable to see my SATA drive since forever (it had disappeared after my 1st system drive crashed) even though all the management tools could see that a drive was present. I tried everything (or so I thought!) - but....
I followed your instructions up to clicking on disk management; there it was listed as 'foreign' -- I clicked on 'import foreign' and voila! I have my disk back after months of frustration.

Just to make sure - I have been listening to some music I picked up using Morpheus from the old days before I ran spybot removers

Thanks loads for the suggestion,0 <<anyone know where this '0' is coming from?>>

You know, while I was troubleshooting my mobo problems, I decided to add the washers to see if that was the problem - I placed them between the case and the standoff - that should be as good and a whole lot easier to accomplish, but then I'm kind of lazy.
