Have you tried doing a system restore??

system.dat is basically your registry....

Please try these things

1) Bootup and hold down F8 until a menu appears
2) Select Option 5 (Command Prompt)
3) Enter this @ the C prompt

scanreg/restore

Select the oldest registry listed......

If this doesnt work,repeat steps 1-2 and @ the prompt type this:

scanreg/fix (VERY POWERFULL COMMAND IN 98 -- Basically rebuilds your registry)

Then reboot after its done.......

If they had only put that feature into it,it would rock!!! (I dont think you can highlight 1 or 2 files and just securely delete them or not...I have tried tohugh to highlight 1 or 2 and just do those..)

For example i have a program that restores deleted files,securly deletes all deleted sectors,etc..... I'd like to be able to modify the script and have it do more (Delete 1 file permantly instead of the whole drive (takes 13 hrs))

Well i use AIM and when i wanna delete names and such i delete them from the registry (In the aim section) (DONT TRY THIS UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING)

Try opening REGEDIT and searching the registry for whatever name you wanna remove (Thats the easiast way)

I have the answer for this problem with IE7

This message is from a friend of mine @ another site (Who i have invited here).. He is very knowledgable in these areas and when i saw his post i thought of Dani (And others) who dont like this @ all!!!

Annoyed by the placement of the address bar in IE7, I used a reg hack last night to move it below the File Edit View bar. After poking around a bit though, I found an easier way - plus I was able to get rid of the equally annoying (to me, anyway) xtra search bar (next to the address bar). This works in XP Pro only:

Fire up the Group Policy editor and navigate to User Configuration | Administrative Templates | Windows Components | Internet Explorer. In the right pane is a load of nice options, one being "Prevent the Internet Explorer search box from displaying", another "Moving the menu bar above the navigation bar". Right-click, choose Properties and tick Enable.

You could try getting REG SEEKER and taking the stuff you dont want out of your STARTUP entries..

Its also the BEST reg cleaner i have ever found!! (1st time i ran it it removed over 800 entries!!)
