Mate you gotta post what game your running, os version, direct x version, and maybe the specs of your rig.

my suggestions, try reinstall the game, then install the latest forceware drivers for the video card, if this doenst help, then get old drivers (like 40 or 60) and try it out.
Then try reinstall directx, i also reckon that you should check the readme of the game for any known issues with geforce 4's, maybe the game needs pixel shading, or some weird texture support.

post back if you still have probs.

regards

edit: some parts of the error look look memory problems, are you sure your not running a new game on windows 98 or me,
or the otherway round, an old game on xp (some games like might and magic 7 jack up)

I actually managed getting a laptop screen to work on my pc's 9800 pro.
i made a sync converter and i simply wired up the pins.
the laptop was an ancient toshiba sat, 100mhz

thats odd, is the warranty ok??? if not, alienware might still not charge you, it is alienware after all, :)
Just call them up or take it to where you bought it (please dont tell me that you bought it online)

those are artifacts, maybe the gpu is warped, did you ever bend the card,
maybe it once overheated and now permanently damaged the gpu.

try take it out, take of the radiator, clean it completely, (and the fan). then buy some zalman ram heatsinks (theyre like 3 bucks here for 5 of them) and mount them onto the video ram chips (the small black things saying either hynix or samsung or something)

thats odd, my 9800 works with a 350 watt psu

hey either the voltage is different from the motherboard, apparantely there are two voltages.
or your bios is set to display pci first (that should show agp second, so this is not the problem).
did you connec the power cable to it??

Hi all,
At my place of education (okay okay i still go to school), there are limited internet quotas, these quotas are really stupid because 10 mb's cost 1 dollar and it actually charges you more than you use.

I thought of different ways of going around it and ssh tunneling is not an option, I have used this as a secure way of connecting to my sunblade 100 box but I dont think it will work in this scenario.

I dont know if its the right forum to post in (*mods, delete if unsuitable).

Are there any programs that sit on a server and constantly retrieve mail either from a mail server like google or from a locally hosted mail server.
I need a program that parses HTTP requests that are embedded in emails and then sends back the entire page and/or images as a tarballed or zipped attachment, then a local porxy on my pc will parse that and feed it to eg. firefox or explorer.

So please enlighten me, are there any programs that do this task, or should i just write a c program.

very nice

couldnt you just do striptags() and/or mysqlescapestring()
this should filter off tags, or you could custom code a bb code like parser so that it replaces <b>, etc. with nothing.

thanks for answering, I wanted to know if all geforce2's are so horrible.
I will probably buy an fx card soon. And my slot is AGP 4x, only 4 not 8 though
On 8x, is everything 2 times faster?????

could be the pc bios switching the motherboard off. Mine does that if it is overheating. The temperature could go so high that the chip fries.

Something else that could have hapened is that perhaps the sensor chip is broken. the temperature one.

Try getting a better cooland system, or keep the lid off for one time and see how it goes.

NEVER EVER BUY A PC WITH AN INTEGRATED GFX CARD. THEY SUCK.

They can barely run quake 2

extermin8tor 0 Newbie Poster

dude, it probably overheating, or something

WTH, there is no point geting a better card for such a pc. no offence. If you see my other post here, i have a 1.8ghz with a geforce2 and it runs very horribly.

You should upgrade pc's.

And by the way, those dell pc are really hard to upgrade, i wouldnt be surprised if the v card you got was just an upgrade thing, just to add more memory

Hi,
I recently bought a computer, and it is a p4 2ghz, well it was supposed to be, actually it is 1.8ghz. But that is beside the point. It has a geforce 2 64mb video card. The card isnt THAT bad, I know compared to x1800's it sucks but yeah. It works unbelievebly crap. In battlefield On everything turned to lowest, it gets me about 19fps. What is going on, In halo, everything turned down to low doesnt pull well, just barely enough to play. And some games work slower than my old celeron 366 with an 8mb vanta. Another strange thing I noticed is that the water in most games like bf1942 and tribes 2, has very jagged edges. and it is really weird. I tried changing the drivers 3 times. I tried forceware 80, forceware 60, and forceware 17 or something. I dont know why it runs so crap.

Does anybody else have a geforce2, if so how does it run????

I am willling to upgrade cpu's, and video card. I was thinking of getting either a 6600GT, 6800GT, or something like an ati x1200, or even a radeon, 9800.

What does everyone think???
