Hi all,

I used to work on DW 4.0

I recently switched to MX 2004 & have had problems with the templates.

For some reason the program won't update all the files associated with that template.

I'm using a .phtml extension & it's already been placed in the extension folder.

Even a guy from Macromedia tried to help, but he keeps telling me he's having no problems while I am.

If anyone can help me, it would really be appreciated.

If you are an expert in templates, different file extensions, editable regions etc. & live in Toronto plus can come to the house to see what the problem is, we can work on a reasonable price. ;)

I can't work like this updating every page manually. It's nuts :(

Okay here it goes...

I have a tons of e-mail addys saved up from my time online which is 6 yrs. now.

Most of the people conacted me personally thru dating sites etc, & I'm sure some would very interested in my new e-commerce site. I kept them knowing one day I would finally get my site launched LOL

I want to be able to either send them an e-mail introducing them to my site or asking them to join my ezine.

Last year people were telling me this is okay b/c there had been contact made between me & them at one point or another.

Today I'd like to hear suggestions on how to do this without causing any problems since all the new changes with spam.

There are just too many e-mails to do it one at a time (maybe 40,000 +), so I'd need a program that can gather all the e-mail addys, make sure there are no duplicates & send out a one time only e-mail. I don't even care if I have to do 100 every day just to space it out.

Than I would just delete the e-mail addys unless the person joined my ezine.

Any suggestions on how to do this, whether to get them to join my ezine or …

Okay is Ad Sense where your ad shows up to the right of the search page in the little box or is it where your ad/banner is on other people's sites?

But I saw you mention that you risk having your competitor's ad on your site which I clearly don't want LOL

Google AdSense :) I used to use ValueClick banner advertising and the results were about only half as good.

If you don't mind paying, www.hitbox.com is really good. However, it's a 3rd party script so you have to pay per month. I use Urchin now, and it's by so far the best log analyzer I've ever used.

There are quite a bunch of programs and scripts out there that claim to be the best link swap directory. In general, there are ones that are pretty good. When looking for one, make sure that it has the following, lifesaving features:

• site visitors can automatically post their site info
• script will validate that a reciprocal link appears somewhere on their site
• script will automatically add their link to your link pages
• script keeps a categorized list of link pages for you
• every X amount of days, script will revalidate all partners for a link back

There are many programs that also claim to find link partners for you. Usually the sites they find are pretty scammy looking. I dunno. Try www.linkautomate.com - it's not a free program but it's pretty cool

Okay, here's my question...

I have AWStats on my server, but it's not enough for me.

I want a program that will do the following...

1. Tell me exactly what site/ad a person came from just b4 they purchased.

2. Will tell me which city, State/Province purchases the most

3. Which cc is used the most

4. Stats for every page, not just the global overview.

5. I want the link that the person got from google that brought them to me, like on my etracker, it actually gives me the link embedded with my keywords. This way I can see my competition with the same keywords & how the customer got to me.

6. Speaking of competition, kanoodle said they had a spy program wwww.kanoodle.com/spy that would tell you what your competitors keywords are & what keywords people are typing in to land on your competitor's site, but it was kind of a dead end. Because my keywords weren't listed, it took me to an outside site called wordtracker that I don't think would help me although I used to get their newsletter filled with keywords, but it did nothing for me.

I would want this feature #6 too.

AVG just picked up the above Trojan horse on 3 files & yet it won't allow me to move them to the vault & I can't find ANYTHING about it on AVG, Symantec etc.

I searched Google & only once I took off the downloader & just submitted swizzor.aa did I get anything.

All of the pages that came up listed the virus the millions of others, but it seems to be coming from overseas & hasn't even arrived here b/c I can't get any info about it & nothing is in English.

Can anyone help me to get rid of it?

I'm new to the board & I really really hope someone here can help me.

I've been having this problem on & off for about 3 wks. now & I initially thought it was the new MSN messenger b/c that was the last thing I DLed, but I uninstalled it & reinstalled it without their toolbar & I'm still getting the problems listed below.

First off I'm on Win 2000 prof. running IE 6.0

I keep getting this blue search bar underneath the address bar & just below the word "links" (I can send you a screen shot)

It has different topics besides the search field like online jobs, pay per click, at home jobs, entertainment etc.

I can't get rid of it no matter how hard I try.

Yes I have AD aware & now even have Spybot & nothing is helping.

Some times Ad Aware gets rid of it, but than a few hours or days later it is back.

It also shakes my browser window whenever I start doing things on the site I'm viewing.

The next problem is even worse.

I will link from a site, e-mail or even manually type in an URL in the address field & instead of it going to that site, it shows my temp file under document & setting, local settings, administrator, temp & then the name "meal way close" & right after that, the URL of …

I'm new to the board & I'm hoping someone can help me.

Questions...

First...

I'm running Win 2000 Prof.

When I install the new MB, do I have to erase the HD & reinstall Win or can I just reinstall it on top of what's already there b/c of the new MB?

I was told I have to reinstall windows if I'm on 2000 & someone else told me I don't.

Second question...

I also got a new HD & I want to transfer the info onto the new HD.

Some people say use a utility program (any really good free ones around?) & others say to ghost it would take way too long, just transfer the Programs & leave the data on the already existing HD.

I really didn't want 4 different names. I just wanted C & D.

Any advice from experts? It would be much appreciated.
