What i mean is that, old people are confined indoors mean that they no longer have the strength to go outdoors and have activities, like hiking or trekking. There are still elderly people i know that are healthy and have no illness. You would rather go outdoors mean you are trying to prove to other people, you still have the stamina to go for marathon instead of being frail and stay indoors all day, of course i am not referring to you ancient dragon

Well, daniweb seem capable to achieve a million members by the end of this year, i will give daniweb my support. From my research, it seems that there are not man asians joining daniweb, maybe i can encourage my school mates to join daniweb or start a daniweb campaign. Sounds good?;)

Did you backup your stuft with time machine. Try restoring it maybe it will help. Try this two software disk drill and stella phoenix. Just as royng has said. They are pretty easy to use and you can use them to recover your data. If that does not work, send your macbook to an apple service centre, the technician are able to help you retrieve your data. Reinstalling your mac will not totally delete your files, although they appear to be gone and you can't use spotlight to search for it, traces of your files and folders are still stored in your internal hard disk. The apple technician are able to recover your data from your internal hard disk provided when you reformat your mac you did not click on the option use secure erase. The options will totally erase your hard disk clean and no matter how pro the technician are they are still unable to recover your data. Er, from your first post i just realize that this threads has been more than 3 month old since you post your problem last year. I was wondering have your problem been solved:-/. If not send your mac for repair as this problem has persist for too long but there is no harm trying the method i suggest.

I agree with the rest above. you can also go to finder preference by holding command , when you hold the two buttons the preference will appear and you can change the settings. you can also go disk utility and erase your thumb drive to get back the original memory. for example you have a 2 GB thumbdrive but now less 1GB. just go disk utility and click on your thumbdrive name. select the option erase and choose erase free space or erase. erase mean deleting all your files and the thumbdrive original space will be recovered. for example you erase a thumbdrive that has only 2 GB now but originally 8 GB. After erasing your thumbdrive, the thumbdrive memory will be back to 8 GB

Follow royng advise and go to disk utility. Select the thumb drive name and click on erase. The format should be mac os extended journaled click on erase to delete the item on your flash drive and get back the original space. Click on security options to change the erase setting, i recommend you to use zere out data. Hope it helps.

Use the apple hotline or use send the mac for repair at the apple service centre it is free unless you have a warranty and a apple care protection plan. Backup your data first in a hard drive, if you have no hard drive, i recommend you to use buffalo or seagate hard disk. They crashed less and is cheap. Do not reformat your computer that is only the last resolved and only when a apple certified technician advised you to do so then you reformat. DO NOT REFORMAT YOUR COMPUTER.

So far in the poll, i like job life better than student life is leading the way. I feel that student life is ok for me, maybe it is because i am able to cope with what is the teacher saying in class, and i score very well for my tests so maybe that ease the pressure of student life. I have used the version firefox 4. Firefox 4 sad to say is the same as firefox 3.6. I prefer using google chrome and safari. I use my time machine and restore firefox 3.6 and delete firefox 4 although i don't know why. I still prefer the older version of firefox and the icon where it has shows a fox with nine tails. Anyone likes that? Chrome is still the best for me, it has auto translations from other languages to the one you want

You can't install mac on pc as they don't allow, you can only install pc on mac. You can't download mac version 10.6 you can only buy the disk. The disk contains version 10.6.5, you can have updates often to update your mac version from 10.6.5 to 10.6.6. I recommend you to buy the new version of mac, mac osx lion 10.7. That is the latest version and is faster and have more features. It cost very cheap when you buy the disk only. I agree with tje210, follow his advice, no point just posting what he has already post. Hopes this answer your questions any more questions. I am ready to help.

Next time you experience this kind of problem recovered your data immediately the longer it takes the more files will be lost over time and no matter how hard you try you can't recover them. To minimise the risk back up your data often using the methods i teach you. Transferring data from your ipod to your computer is the one i will recommend the most.

Billbo 72, your idea of transition from repairing pcs to macs is good, i encourage you on that. You may want to sign up for mac classes before you repair mac. Go and buy a mac book pro as it is faster than the rest of the macbooks. If you want to operate on the macbook, you must be qualified as an apple service technician, you ca achieved that by going for the exam to qualified but first you must have basic knowledge on how to use a macbook. Good luck, after you have your mac and experience any problem tell me i will help you solve it. Some tips if you want to take the exam, they will ask you to take the bottom cover off the mac off and tell them the different parts and how to repair each parts. Hi mahdi68. Try going to your network diagnostics. You can do this by clicking on system preferences which you can find on your dock. Next step, when you are inside system preferences go to network. Click on assist me and click on diagnostics. Follow the prompts and steps and tell me did it go well for you. To use the above steps you have to be an administrator, certain steps they will ask you for the administrator username and password to proceed to the next step. Good Luck
