I would like to know how to do use this forum as link building like i post an article and can i insert the link of a relevant site from where exactly i took knowledge about this article? Many other users also doing the same thing, Especially those who are involved with SEO and online marketing.

That is against the daniweb rules. The first rule states

Do ensure you own the intellectual property rights to everything that you post

You should post a link in a post or discussion if it is related to that post or discussion and you feel that it would be better for further reference. You said right that most people specialy from SEO or Onlime marketing person post their irrelevent link which void this forum rule. It is wrong to do such illegal thing but don't be a follower of any wrong deed or a wrog person.
