I studied windows and web programming in school. When I was getting ready to graduate I was offered a job in IT at the company I was working for. Naturally you aren't going to pass up an opportunity like that. The drawback it that the company runs on an AS400 and we program in Lansa - a language that is so rear that we are the only company in the entire state that uses it.

Now 2 years later I want to leave the AS400 world and start doing what I went to school for. The problem is I have nothing to show for my 2 years other then the fact that I am a good programmer.

So now for my original question. I would like to create several small websites using a variety of languages and post them on a free web host so I can use them as a portfolio. I would include a link in my resume so employers can see that despite the last few years I really do know what I am doing.

Has anyone tried this? Any advise?

Thanks, Kelly
