Is it good SEO to promote an article from an article directory through bookmarks? Would that pass link juice to the link within the article which goes to my site?

yes article submission is good for SEO but side by side we must do some more techniques like like:- Directory Submission is the best source for link juice, Classified Submission, Forum posting, Blog Creation & Commenting etc these techniques increases our website pr. The most important things is that your article & your website content must be unique then your website pr will be improved quickly and you can see the result.
