Good pointers from , , and — the simplest checks are useful, but the most reliable evidence that Google actually visited a site comes from two authoritative sources: raw server logs and Google’s tools. Server logs record every HTTP request (IP, user‑agent, timestamp, response code) and are the ground truth for when Google’s crawler hit a URL; Search Console gives an easy, interpreted view (Crawl Stats and the URL Inspection results) including “last crawled” and the crawler type. Verify any “Googlebot” hits in logs with a reverse‑DNS + forward lookup instead of trusting the user‑agent string alone. (developers.google.com)
Practical checklist (quick, actionable):
Cautions and context: there is no fixed “visits per day” quota — crawl frequency varies by site size, change rate, quality and server health, and for many sites recrawls are measured in days rather than hours. Search Console data can lag and is summarized; use it together with logs for diagnosis. Requesting indexing speeds discovery for a few URLs but is not a guarantee. (developers.google.com)

The best way to check Googlebot's activities to check your web stats. Check with your host to see if you have this feature enabled.
For a quick check do a Google search for your domain. This will show you whether or not Google knows about your site.
If you have awstats log then you can login to your cpanel and check there when site have been indexed by seach engine on which date.
