I want to get on first page on bing.com for a keyword search.
Do I have to follow the same ways which I am doing for Google? OR Is there any special things to be done? Please share your experience when you have optimized your site for bing.com,

: short answer — treat Bing as a separate channel and measure it directly. Replies from , , and touched on keywords, links and domain history; those are part of the picture. Below is a practical, Bing-focused checklist and quick troubleshooting workflow you can run now.

  • Verify the site in Bing Webmaster Tools and submit an XML sitemap. Use its reports to see which pages Bing has indexed and any crawl errors.
  • Check crawlability: robots.txt, meta robots/noindex tags, canonical tags and server response codes (200/301/404/5xx). Fix accidental blocks before changing content.
  • Add Schema.org structured data (JSON-LD where appropriate) so pages can qualify for Bing rich results.
  • Confirm HTTPS, responsive layout and reasonable page speed; technical signals affect visibility and crawl efficiency.
  • For local visibility, claim and complete your business listing in Bing Places.
  • Track Bing-specific impressions, clicks and top queries separately from Google in your analytics and Webmaster Tools so you can test changes.

Quick troubleshooting workflow: if a page is not indexed, first confirm with Webmaster Tools and a site: query, then inspect for robots/meta blocks or status-code issues, correct the problem, request reindexing and monitor the URL report for a week or two. If visibility still lags, use the backlink and crawl reports in Webmaster Tools to prioritise fixes.

Note: is right that historical signals matter, but new sites can rank when technical health and measurable trust signals are in place — focus on diagnostics, fixes and tracking.

Bing and Google have different algo. I think you can pay more attention to keywords in internal and external anchor text links and keywords in title.

You need to have a good volume of keyword-relevant content on your website and have related sites link to you. It's a lot more complex like that but it's a strong start.

For me its really a toughest task to get top on bing, Because bing providing importance to old age domain. So it is much difficult to get top on bing.
