Future of VR headsets

I know I posted not too long ago about VR headsets (I'll have to dig that topic up), but here's another one to throw at ya. They're heavy and their bulky and they make me dizzy ... but there is nothing anywhere close to as immersive entertainment. Do they have a future, or will they go the way of 3D TVs? (BTW, I used to have 3D TVs 15 years ago, and I loved them. I really don't understand why they never caught on, but 3D movies in theaters are still a thing.)
