I have a presario laptop that's several years old. It started to just suddenly turn off when plugged in even if the batter was fully charged. Now it will not turn on at all and makes a clicking sound when it is plugged into the wall. The batter is fully charged.

try to remove the ac adaptor and the batt for about a few minutes (10mins) then put your batt check if it will help, if not then it could be an EOL (end of life) of your device...
