So I just got this brand new laptop (a Sager 5125) as a birthday present, and it comes with an Nvidia Geforce GT 330M graphics card, as well as a standard Intel GMA card for battery conservation.

Pretty neat, huh?

I tested out some demanding games that I borrowed from some friends, and I've been getting very weird results with some games.

1) Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - Works like a charm, > 70 fps most of the time.
2) CoD: Modern Warfare 2 - Works okay, but I rarely get over 45 fps. I don't think the Geforce is activating, but that's not the problem.
3) Assassin's Creed 2 - Here's the problem.

If I run it in Optimus mode (where the laptop is free to switch between dedicated and integrated graphics), it will load, create a 800x600 white screen with a black background, and constantly flicker. It's a pain to test, because every time it happens, I have to end the process with Task Manager.

If I run it in PowerSave mode (where its forced to use the Intel card), it will load easily, but I get about 5 fps. Obviously, this isn't acceptable.

And before you ask, there's no way to force dedicated graphics. =)

Anyone out there with an Optimus-enabled laptop that has this problem?
