when i turn on my computer the screen blinks but nothing is visible

check some obvious issues first such as loose connections on the back of the computer as well as the back of the monitor.
In addition, if you monitor has a "reset" button, try that to restore the monitor settings back to default.
If that doesnt work, plug the monitor into another computer to try to determine where the problem is.
