We have a small peer-to-peer LAN running Windows XP.

In the last week the same problem has cropped up on 3 separate PCs (all under a year old).

Floppy drives won't read, sometimes an error message saying the disc is not formatted, sometimes "No ID address mark was found on the floppy disk".

The same messages occur whichever floppy we use, including brand new ones.

I've tried booting in safe mode with command prompt, but get the No ID message.

Any ideas?

Alf,
Are you able to read a new floppy after you format it?
