I have a compaq presario 700. It will not start. The green light comes on when I plug it in but nothing else happens. My battery is geting charged though and the hard drive seems to be spinning.

Nothing else happens though...no boot up lights, I annot even open up the dvd player when it is plugged in.

Any suggestions what it may be and how can I fix it ??

After posting this , I did a search and found a solution on this site.

I turned my laptop upside down and started tapping with my hand underneath. The powerlight would not come on at first, but I kept trying and it suddenly started up. Its been dead for over a year so I'm curios to see what files I have here......
