I clicked on the my computer icon yesterday and noticed that the icon for one of my hard drives had changed to a different icon. It is the one that is like a piece of paper with the corner folded slightly and has another picture of a screen or whatever. It is the one you get when your computer doesn't know how to read it. It still opens fine but how do I change it to its original icon? I have xp pro.

this is a BIOS v. OS issue. check BIOS settings first.

Actually, I had to go into the hd and find an autostart file. I had to delete it and presto it worked.

to change icon follow this procedure -

1. download disk drive(local disk c) icon fom internet or icons like bluetooth or any mobile icon.
2. when you have download icon cut and paste it in your affected disk drive.
3. make a new text document with name autorun.inf and write following text in that-
[autorun]
ICON=full name icon you have downloaded for example(stickduo.ico)

4.then save it and hide the picture and the document and you are done.
