I need the above. I can download loads of registry fixes but need one that I can save to disk, boot from and auto-run to fix or let me navigate to fix registry.

Anyone got any good suggestions?

I've got a dead machine with no hard drive access. Don't believe it's crashed as I had a power loss after using a third party programme to roll back the registry (I know, but it did fix another problem). I didn't get a chance to tidy up my mess.

There are no registry-fixing-bootable-image programs (to my knowledge).

You can try couple of things:

- boot to safe mode (might work and give you chance to fix the registry)
- boot with windows XP installation CD and try the recovery console - this way you can manually replace registry files with backed-up ones (if available)
- recover via backups
- use "repair windows" in windows setup program. (it is almost as same as reinstalling).

Thanks for yuor help - much appreciated even if not what I wanted to hear
