Was software wiping a 100gb laptop drive to sell it, and now the Bios cannot see it.

A few disk diagnostic programs seem to be able to access it anyway and they say the drive is fine (full surface scan).

Windows XP install disk can partition, format, write the OS. But when it comes to boot time- can't see the drive! I can also put it in an external USB enclosure and access it just fine.

Have tried it in another identical laptop- same problem.

I've tried fixboot, fixmbr and many other ideas. Am at a complete loss what could cause this. Can this drive be saved?

Eric
