I have had this dirve since October and Must have made around 20-30 single sided DVD burns since then. A week ago I put in a CD to re-install some drivers, the next day when I put in a Disk it made some kind of noise as if it were having trouble reading the disk. It was almost a screaching sound but not to the point that you think its scratching the disk. I dont know if its dead or not but it wont read any disks so Im going to assume that I have to get a new one. Now I'am not sure what kind of replacement to get for this Drive I'am not a Hardcore DVD burning guy but I might burn 2-3 Disks a month. I was Hopping to get some suggestions on a good drive to replace it.

RAM: Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X2048-6400C4 2GB Dual Channel Memory
PSU: 600 Watt OCZ
GPU: BFG 7950 GX2
HDD: 2 X WD Caviar SE16 250GB SATA2 7200RPM 16MB
I think that is all. If any one has some good suggestions for a Drive bellow $50 CAD that would be great.
