I have a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-109.. from a sony vaio machine. I replaced the motherboard and installed my own version of XP...

Now though my dvd-rw isn't working properly
it will read cds and burn cds but I am having trouble with it working with dvds

windows device manager says it is working properly... I tried a firmware upgrade the the upgrade said the device is not available?? lol wtf??

I have absolutly no idea what to do :(

any help is greatly appreaciated

Remove and reinstall your burning software. Or get the latest upgrade version.

Test the drive in another computer.

If none of the above works, buy a new one.
