i am using fedora 2.6 and i want to configure my ntp to the gps reciever for synchronizing time which should act like a server and the system is not connected to internet.
do i have to install any packages or else ntp will be inbuilt in linux as i am new to linux pls help me

I don't know anything really about GPS devices, but on the Linux side of things, you'll need ntpd (which is likely already installed by default). The configuration file is located in /etc/ntpd.conf .

Yes, NTP is installed by default, and the MAN pages on the configuration file explain how to use USB capable devices (In this case, I assume the GPS has a USB connection to the computer) to control the time.
