I recently purchased a FireWire/USB hard drive for my G3. It works fine in both systems when I use the USB port but with the FireWire port, when I boot into Panther (10.3) it mounts as expected, but when I boot into System 9.2.2, the system freezes (the cursor will move only) and I'm forced to use the reset switch, which I don't like to do. Any ideas how to solve this problem? Last night I thought I had the solution when I installed the FireWire 2.3.3 update (which is for an earlier version of the OS, 9.0.x) and the HD mounted fine. But I then installed a USB update and FireWire didn't work, again. I reinstall the FireWire 2.3.3 update again but it didn't help. I booted into 9.2.1 and installed FireWire 2.3.3. That didn't help either. Any suggestions?

TIA.
