Guys,I downloaded Windows Media11...now I have no sound when playing DVD's.
Checked all the usual audio stuff..couldn't find anything wrong..Any suggestions?

try downloading vlc media player if the sound works in there then its a missing codec try downloading an xp codec pack, you can use the gspot application to tell you what codecs you have installed or are missing for a given file format!

Or you could also try updating the drivers for your sound card. That might solve ur problem.

if youuse any other sound program (we use a music writer one) then it ( in our case using xp and media 11) turns off the Media player to use the sound card itself! We have to go to the sound card controls to turn on (in the advanced bit) the required part after using the music program.!
