My himem.sys has been corrupted or missing. I've tried to resolve this by entering at command line extract / a / y / e / l c: \ windows base4.cab himem.sys, only to be cofronted with cannot open file :a. Any suggestions?
Thanks Mark.

on the d drive. I was following instructions that came straight off the Microsoft site. Not everyone's favourite company.

Thanks I'll try that.

Line 2 corrupted himem.sys currently reads "break = on". I've tried solutions on Microsoft website, but to no avail. If line 2 is corrupted as the system states, can anybody tell me what it should read?
