Hi,

I have an IBM T41 notebook running Win XP SP2. Recently I started having problems with rundll32.exe taking up 100% of the CPU capacity after running certain applications such as IExplorer. At first I thought this might be malware related, but it appears (from a process of elimination) that the problem is actually being caused by my connecting up my Intel PRO 1000 MT Mobile Connection network card via ethernet cable to my DSL modem - once I removed the cable, the problem ceased. I can receive net capability from the laptop's wireless card, but I would really like to use the faster ethernet connection when I'm at home. Anyone have any ideas what the problem is? Could it be SP2 causing the trouble?

Thanks ...

try updating the drivers for the card. This might solve the problem. Something probably got lost when sp2 updated.
