Dear People -

W2k Pro SP4 on 2.4GHz Intel D845GBV2 with IE6SP1, C:\ is Seagate ST340014A, D:\ (1GB pagefile) and E:\ (79GB) are Western Digital WD800BB-22JHC0.

Problem: every so often I get a spew of Perfdisk warnings in my Event Viewer>Application, all the same:
Source: Perfdisk; Category: None; Event ID: 2001; User: N/A; Description: "Unable to read the disk performance information from the system. Disk performance counters ..."

I have read up and studied all the info on the Microsoft site, readjusted the Diskperf command, but the problem still keeps returning.

Currently Diskperf is set to record physical disk performance only.

However, I suspect the problem happens following use of a USB drive of some sort.

My question is: can I safely tell Diskperf to not record any info at all? (cease collecting this data permanently?)

Gordon.
