Alright I just ran a clean install on this laptop and I've installed most of the drivers except the video controller driver. I can't seem to find the file to install it or what I am doing wrong.

I followed these instructions exactly.
http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/document?c=us&docid=1A0C0937D62A8739E0401E0A55174744&doclang=en&l=en&s=gen

I did use the service number on the laptop and I did apply all of the drivers it listed in that order and still nothing. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Building on and , here’s a focused, practical checklist to diagnose why the Intel package appears to install but Windows still shows no video controller.

  • Gather exact Device Manager details first. Open the problem device’s Properties → Details → Hardware Ids and copy the top entry. Also note the Device Status and any error code on the General tab, and the Driver Provider/Version on the Driver tab. Post those if you need more help.
  • Do a clean driver bind. Uninstall the display device from Device Manager (choose to remove driver software if offered), reboot, then reinstall. If the vendor EXE won’t bind, extract its files to a folder and use Update Driver → Browse my computer → Let me pick → Have Disk and point to the INF.
  • Install in the right order. On these laptops the chipset/INF should be installed before the graphics driver so Windows can map the device correctly. Also confirm you’re using the correct OS architecture (32‑bit vs 64‑bit).
  • Try a fallback to isolate hardware vs driver. Force the Microsoft Standard VGA Adapter (or boot a Linux live USB) to see if basic video works — if it does, the problem is driver binding, not a dead GPU.
  • BIOS/installer notes: don’t flash BIOS unless the vendor specifically lists a graphics fix. If an OEM driver fails, try the manufacturer’s vendor-specific package and, if that fails, the chipset vendor’s generic package; one of those usually binds correctly.

If those steps don’t fix it, post the Hardware Id string and the Device Manager error code so an exact INF can be matched. These details let someone point to the precise driver that will bind.

Is therte not a list of all the drivers required on the dell website?

Do you know what graphics card you have?

Its the intel one, but I already installed it and it still says there is no video controller.

How are you going about this install?
What exactly, is "it", and what does "it" say?
What do you see in Device Manager under Video Adapter?

Forgive me for not listing details in the first place.
