Got one advice.
Add more info about when it happens and what is happening at that time.
Windows explorer (not Internet explorer) can crash on many ways. From reading a scratched CD/DVD, harddrive, ntfs error to simple 3rd party application crash. Even removed infection can silently compromise Windows Explorer. I would suggest to have a look in the event manager for errors related to the time of crash.

Anyway hijacklogs are not like all telling information.

what happens is that my windowsexplorer.exe crashes and gives the messgae that needs to close.. app ver 6.0.2900.5512/2180 mod name:unknown, mod ver: 0.0.0.0 offset (various) one is 03fe9b92

in the event manager the two errors are: service control manager 7009, plugandplaymanager 12,256

w-e crashes when opening any files..

pretty straightforward stuff..

don´t play games, don´t download and look at the other stuff..

have made various changes now from searching through google..

and have even done a repair/install which in itself was a long and painful process..

i would do a complete reinstall and format if i could just save my files over to the external hard drive..

been 4 days now trying to fix this.. and it appears that there are many solutions for thsi one problem.. but none of them work for me!!

any advice would be greatly appreciated..

i am prepared to try all things rather than re-install..
