hi just changed my desktop background and when i hit apply the pic and the icons all dissapeared now I cant get it back. start menu still works and some gadgets are still up but other than that its a blank screen

hi, try to right click on an empty space on the desktop. then go to "Arrange Icons By" check whether the "Show desktop icons" is checked or not. checked it if you want to show desktop icons, unchecked if you want to hide icons.
