I have an older laptop that i got from a friend. I am trying to connect to the internet and even though I have the ethernet cable connected directly to the computer I can not get connection. I was told to do an ipconfig and the number came up as 192.168.0.1, so i'm getting an ip address. But when I open a page it tells me that i can not connect to the internet. Please help.. I am frustrated..

What is the exact error message that appears?
Can you please do an ipconfig/all and post the results here so I can take a look for you?
Also what web browser are you using and what version is it?
