I am trying to play Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind on my laptop, but i keep getting an error message. The message reads as follows.
C:\Windows\system32\DINPUT8.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or software vendor.
I wrote to the software vendor and they haven't had a problem with dinput8.dll. I ran a Registry repair tool (Registry Mechanic 9.0) but it didn't fix the problem. I have attempted to uninstall and re install the program multiple times even in safe mode. I have used the compatability mode to run the game in Windows XP, but non of that fixed the problem. I still can't use the game.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1420 running:
Windows Vista Home Premium 6.0
Intel Core2 Duo T8300 2.40GHz
DirectX 10 110GB Free Space on the hard drive
3582MB RAM NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS with the latest driver
