My Windows XP freezes every time I start it up. Nothing is "clickable" except for taskmamanager. My desktop usually says "Active Desktop Recovery." This is driving me nuts. I've been dealing with it by restarting it until it works, but this solution is not working anymore. Only safe mode will allow me access to my PC. Help Please?

P.S. I'm not a huge tech wiz, so please specifically explain everything you suggest and I'll probably be able to figure it out.

There are lots of reasons that causes your problem. One is about virus, maybe spywares make your PC super slow. Or your OS have been infected with malware/adware. Easiest way to do is to reformat your PC. Back up your important files first using Hiren's Boot CD "if you have one" and copy to any usb device. Reformat your PC and poof.
Problem Solved.
