I have two computers at home connected through a Koenig 10/100 switch.
My problem is that if I copy something large that takes more than a few minutes to get through the connection drops.
It also happens when I download something to the other computer.
#1 PC has Vista SP1(fully updated), #2 PC has XP SP3(fully updated).
Is it because of the cheap switch or is it a software error?

not sure but ,using the word cheap leads me to this comment ,you get what you pay for .spring for a good one[from one with a return policy] and try it, if no change take it back
