Hi everyone,

I recently installed Trainz 2010 and did not care for it so I simply uninstalled it....

Now I have no sound.

My specs...

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

MOTHERBOARD: eMachines MCP61PM-GM (CPU 1)

RAM: 6.0GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 401MHz 6-6-6-18

AUDIO: High Definition Audio Device

VIDEO:HP w2216 @ 1680x1050
nVidia video (Acer Incorporated [ALI])

I can see it playing it if I open up the sound from the control panel. I have tried 2 sets of speakers and headphones which I know to all work and I have tried both the front and rear jacks.

Interesting thing is...when I plug into the front it usually would come up and say that I had plugged something into that jack, it does not anymore.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank You

have you checked your device manager to see whether your audio driver get uninstalled also?

Try this...

Go to Device Manager (type it into Start Menu)

Expand Sound, Video and Game controllers

Right click on High definition audio device and select uninstall

Now...
Right click on Sound, Video and Game controllers and select Scan for Hardware changes

I am going to assume yours is a Realtek card and so, go to http://www.realtek.com.tw/ and download the High definition Audio Codec driver package for Windows 64 bit.

Let me know if it helps.
