So, I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 Server for my home network that I am upgrading the storage on from a 2 disks of 250 GB RAID1 array to a 4 Disks of 500GB RAID5 or RAID10 Array. RAID 10 will yeild about 1TB of storage. RAID5 will yield about 1.3TB. Is there any reason why I shouldn't use a RAID5 for the additional space? My controller is the onboard ICH10R controller that comes standard on the X58 Platform.
FYI: This server is being used as
- The primary Domain Controller for my Home Network
- The primary File Server/NAS Box on my Home Network.
