Hi, i bought a sony vaio just the other day (new). instead of clicking "shut down" the other day i clicked "log off" now it is asking me for a password to log on. i have not set a password yet so is there a factory set password? Cheers

Just heard back from sony and they advised to hit enter with the box empty, which worked. Thanks very much for the reply anyway,

If you want it to automatically log you in as it did before, do as follows:
- Click Start, select "Run..."
- Type "control userpasswords2" and click OK.
- Put a check in the "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" and click OK.
- Follow the instructions on any pop-up dialog boxes.
I have no idea why they made it so hard, but that is the easiest way.
