Iv'e been using IE for some time. Just recently when I start to download a file from the internet, the file download box reads, gathering file information, which is neverending. It doesn't prompt me to save the file like it normally would. It's almost inpossible to download anything. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, do you leave your computer on 24/7? Try a restart
Jump to Postdownload firefox on another machine, burn it to a cd, and install it on your computer. Then uninstall internet explorer (via ad/remove programs _> windows components tab) then install it again.

It happens on any download. My computer doesn't stay on all the time. Reboots don't help.
