Okay, I have an old old old pc with windows me installed on it, and I just accidentally clicked the wrong thing in wingrub's setup menu, and now instead of a shiny new mbr, I have a shiny new partition boot record, and thus cannot boot windows anymore... does windows me keep a copy of it's bootloader as a file on the file system that I could chainload from grub (the filesystem is intact) or is there any way to restore the old partition boot record without needing the install media? (I don't have any boot disks/recovery disks...)

never mind, problem solved, a bit of poking around shows that wingrub fortunately makes a copy of the boot sector in a file called bs.org... system saved :P
