Yet another newbie question - I have a Pentium IV 2.8 Clone running XP HomeSP1 and Office 97 SR1 and SR2.

My former ISP didn't like Outlook and I tried to run it for the first time after changing ISPs some months ago.

I get a start display that says Outlook is building the Outlook Bar then the program switches to XP's error encountered screen with the error signature

AppName: outlook.exe AppVer: 8.4.0.5305 ModName: user32.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.1255 Offset: 0001d231

I checked the microsoft site and tried to follow their instructions about adding additional info to the registry key, but the additional information was already there.

Can anyone help?

Additional info on problem - Dr Watson says there was an access violation and that symbol file could not be found

*** ERROR: Symbol file could not be found. Defaulted to export symbols for C:\WINDOWS\system32\USER32.dll -
