i got rid of that modem if you seen my earlier post as i am going wirless but i am told that i need a network for my computer but i dont know what a network card is or looks like can you send me a link of a network card for my computer so i can go wireless. if you can show me a link for one i would be most greatful

For wireless you would need:

One of these for and internal install http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2052810031+1133010139&Configurator=&Subcategory=31&description=&Ntk=&SpeTabStoreType=&Order=BESTMATCH&srchInDesc=

or

One of these to connect through USB

or

One of these for a laptop that didn't come with integrated wireless

Different types vary in speed and range, anywhere from 54mbps (fine for most short distance home networks) to 300mbps (for long distances or high bandwidth such as heavy file transfers or video streaming.)

I would probably go with a USB adapter since it sounds like you're comfort level for networking is relatively low and they're easier to install (no opening the case or anything like that)
