I'm trying to get a Vista laptop to see an XP Desktop on a network. So far, the XP machine can see and access shared files on the Vista Laptop, but the Vista machine can only see and access the My Music folder on the XP computer (as a media player).
I found that Microsoft says I need to install the LLTD Responder protocol on the XP machine but when I try to it says it is already there and aborts the install. It seems this came with XP SP3 but does not show up in Local Network Properties as it should. I found a solution on another site >http://forums.techarena.in/vista-help/972126.htm"] but I don't know how to 'extract the file' or where to find it!! Can anyone help with a simpler step by step explanation of how to do this? I find it difficult to believe that this is so complicated so if there is an easier solution that would be very welcome. Thanks. :-/
