Hi there,

I'm looking for an easy way to build wired internet connection from one room to another. I've been thinking of using a pair of HomePlug AV adapters. In theory it sounds really simple but how about the real world performance. The theoretical maximum speed of HomePlug AV products is 200 Mbs. How fast connection do you really get?

I'd be happy to hear any advice or comments from existing HomePlug AV users.

even if these adapters gave you the entire 200Mb/s you probably won't be able to tell the difference between that and 100Mb/s ethernet

I don't expect to get 200 Mb/s. I'd be happy if the speed is comparable to speed you get with normal 100 Mb/s ethernet using CAT 5 cabling. I'm just afraid that in reality it will be a lot worse due to noise created by other electrical equipment plugged into the same AC wiring.
