i am trying to set my daughters lap top to the wireless gateway modem and it keeps connecting disconnecting as quick as i write this thats what it is doing and back again to connect to disconnect to connect to disconnect ect

First, see if it also disconnects if you use a ethernet cable directly in the modem/router, and let us know, then we can start trouble shoot. Also, report the laptop OS, and router/modem name and model
