I cant seem to be able to get online it says check my connection settings, but when i go check the connections fine i have sbc yahoo DSL, i know virtually nothing about computers so im completely lost.....

Were you previously online or have you never been able to get the system to connect to the Internet? Are you running XP? Is the computer connected directly to the DSL router?
